Tibetan Bridge Carasc

You can reach the Tibetan Bridge only on foot.

It’s possible to start the hike either from Monte Carasso or Sementina. Both ways take around 2h.

Alternatively, you can take the cable car from Monte Carasso to Curzutt (first stop). From Curzutt you can reach the Tibetan bridge by walk in 45/60 min (hiking shoes are hardly recommended!).

Parking and public transports

The access to the hill street of Monte Carasso and Sementina is restricted to the residents and is only issue by the local police.

Since the parking spots are limited in the area, we suggest to reach the Infopoint in Monte Carasso using public transports.

Currently, it is still possible to use the free parking located in “Er Carà di Sa” in Monte Carasso.

We highly recommend to use the public car parking located at “Via tatti” in Bellinzona and reach the cable car station using the public bus (Linea 2) direction Monte Carasso. The bus stops are “Urènn/Funivia” or “Cunvént”. If you chose this solution, in only a 5/10 minutes walk you will be at the cable car station “Monte Carasso – Mornera”. To reach the tibetan bridge from Sementina – direction San Defendente -  the bus stop is “Via Locarno” in Sementina.

For those who arrive with the train at the FFS train station in Bellinzona, the bus lines to take are Linea 2 or Linea 311. The bus stops are “Urènn/Funivia” or “Cunvént”. Then in only a 5/10 minutes walk you are at the cable car station “Monte Carasso – Mornera.

Cable car

You can purchase your tickets for the cable car at the ticket machines at the cable car station, or at the Infopoint (former town hall) during opening hours.

The cable car is out of service every Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m..

At certain times of day, groups of 15/20 people or more can book out journeys reserved for large groups with the assistance of cable car service staff. For further details, please contact the Infopoint during opening hours.

To allow us to inform other users in good time, please make reservations at least 7 days in advance.

Please note that in order to take advantage of the discounts granted by TicinoTicket, Bellinzona Pass and Guest Card Bellinzona, it is necessary to buy the ticket at the Infopoint. Discounts are not granted at the automatic machine.

Shuttle bus

Shuttle bus service towards San Defendente / Sementina (A), Pairolo / Monte Carasso (B) and Malacarne / Gudo (C).
